Wards Affected:-
City-wide
Why we are doing this?
Leicester City Council wants stakeholders to have their view of our proposed new model for delivering domestic violence support services in the City. We want you to have the opportunity to say what you think works best and what, if any, changes you would like to make.
Who we are asking?
Women, men and children who have experienced or are experiencing domestic violence, existing agencies and service providers
Details:-
The new model for delivering domestic violence support services is a result of a review we have carried out over the last six months.
Having considered that we need to provide services for those wishing to change their abusive behaviour, and to increase the support for those children and young people affected by domestic violence, we wish to consult you about getting the balance right between
early intervention and services for those at high risk of homicide or serious harm.
We are also consulting on the different ways the services could be made more accessible. This could be through having one single service to call if you were affected by domestic violence, or through extended opening hours.
Finally, we are asking you to think about whether there could be any negative consequences to our proposals that we haven't considered. We want people in Leicester to feel confident in local domestic violence services, and to feel able to report domestic violence
and get the support they need to be safe and thrive.
