We asked

We asked what you thought about three major arts venues in Leicester – Curve, Phoenix and De Montfort Hall – and about the place of arts in the life of the city.

You said

Respondents valued each of the venues, to varying degrees, and also said that arts as a concept was vital to the city in a range of ways. But you also gave a range of views about what improvements could and should be made.

We did

We are correlating the answers from the online survey, and are putting them together with responses from a paper-only survey on the same issue, and will report the results to the Economic Development, Transport and Tourism Scrutiny Commission and the Heritage, Culture, Leisure and Sport Scrutiny Commission.

Overview

Curve, De Montfort Hall and the Phoenix are three city centre venues which promote a wide range of arts and entertainment experiences targeted at and intended to be of benefit to people who live in Leicester.

Why your views matter

We would like to talk to you about these venues and how much, if at all, you go to any of them.

This will inform the Scrutiny Board who are charged with looking at the performance and success of these venues in the past year and reviewing their future prospects

What happens next

Results from this consultation will be used to prepare a report by the commission on the way in which £2million of City Council grants are spent on these venues.
