Private hire operator licensing
Overview
We are reviewing our policies and procedures for licensing private hire operators. This is part of our taxi strategy, where we will look at all areas of taxi licensing to see where improvements can be made.
Please note: In view of the Covid 19 pandemic we have extended the closing date for this consultation to 30 April.
Why your views matter
Our aim is to provide our services in the most efficient and robust way, in order to ensure public safety. We would like to hear what the taxi trade, the travelling public, responsible authorities and other parties have to say on our proposed changes.
What happens next
The responses to this consultation will be collated by officers and then reported to councillors with recommendations for change. The City Mayor will decide whether to go ahead with the proposals, amend them or reject them. His decision will be published in due course.
