Scoping Report Consultation

Overview

Leicester City Council has prepared a sustainability appraisal scoping report for the emerging Leicester Local Plan. The new local plan will, in time, replace the Adopted Core Strategy and remaining saved 2006 City of Leicester Local Plan policies. It will set out the long-term spatial vision and strategy for the City.

The Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report is an important process in the preparation of the new local plan. Its purpose is to assess the extent to which local plan policies or proposals will help to achieve environmental, social and economic objectives. It will also assess how the Local Plan contributes to achieving sustainable development priorities. 

The City Council is seeking your views on the Scoping Report which is being published for a five-week consultation period from 28th October until 5th December 2016.
