Belgrave Road improvement scheme

Closed 4 Aug 2016

Opened 28 Jun 2016

Overview

Leicester’s ‘Golden Mile’ on Belgrave Road and Melton Road is home to a wonderful selection of shops, restaurants and other services. The area attracts people from all over the country. However, this part of the city is heavily dominated by traffic, resulting in congestion and inconvenience for pedestrians and cyclists.

Following discussions with the Golden Mile Regeneration Group and other key stakeholders, design ideas were drawn up and consulted on between 5 December 2015 and 15 January 2016.

Following this consultation, two potential transport options have been developed with the aim of improving the area to create a more attractive and welcoming environment for residents, shoppers and visitors. We would like to hear your views on these proposals.
