Proposal to establish permanent special needs provision at Babington Community College and Hamilton Community College - Statutory Notice
Overview
The council has consulted on the establishment of Designated Special Provision at Babington Community College and Hamilton Community College. The consultation opened on 3rd June 2013 and closed on 14th July 2013.
Following the outcomes of the consultation, it is proposed to proceed to the next stage which requires the publication of a statutory notice, followed by a six week statutory representations period.

Babington Community College – Establishment of Designated Special Provision
Notice is given in accordance with section 19(1) of the Education and Inspections Act 2006 that Leicester City Council intends to make a prescribed alteration to Babington Community College (Trust School), Strasbourg Drive, Leicester, LE4 0SZ, with effect from 1st January 2014.
It is proposed to establish a 10 place Designated Special Provision (DSP).
It is intended that the school will make provision for the following type(s) of special educational needs provision that would be recognised by the local education authority as reserved for SEN pupils: Speech, Language and Communication Needs and Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
The local authority will implement the changes.
