Overview
Please note: this consultation is now closed. We expect to have a decision on further terms dates in September.
Term date patterns for Leicester schools have been set up to the end of the 2021/22 academic year. We are now considering school term and holiday dates for 2022/23 through to 2026/27.
A key factor in previous consultations has been whether the term date patterns followed by both Leicester City Council and Leicestershire County Council should match. We are asking for your views on this as part of this consultation.
Leicestershire County Council are also consulting on term date patterns for 2022/23 - 2026/27.
Why your views matter
We would like to hear your views on which set of term date patterns you would prefer for the next five school years (2022/23 - 2026/27):
- Option A - Keep the existing term date patterns.
- Option B - Move the current October half term to the following week, bringing the holiday in line with much of the rest of the country.
- Option C - Lengthen the October half term from one week to two weeks. This will result in a shortened Easter break.
