Glenfield Road proposed traffic calming

Overview

Leicester City Council is proposing changes to improve road safety and traffic flow on Glenfield Road, particularly at its junctions with Westfield Road and Westhill Road. These proposals include:

• Adjustments to parking restrictions at the junctions of Glenfield Road with Westfield Road and Westhill Road.

• The introduction of bus stop clearways in the two lay-bys located on the inbound and outbound sides of Glenfield Road, just west of its junction with Westfield Road.

These changes have been developed in response to concerns raised by the local community regarding road safety along this stretch of Glenfield Road. The revised parking restrictions are intended to improve visibility for drivers turning in and out of Westfield Road, reducing the risk of collisions. Additionally, the installation of bus stop clearways will ensure buses can safely and efficiently pull up to the kerb, making it easier and safer for passengers to board and alight.
