Keyham Lane tree felling

Overview

Leicester City Council is proposing to remove remove two Cherry trees. The trees are situated within the grassed verge at the front of no.159.

We are planning to remove these two trees due to ongoing property damage. In line with the Council’s tree policy, where trees are a present danger or nuisance (in law), the council will address this with tree works The pruning of these trees is not a long-term option in this situation.

The replacement planting of the felled tree will be undertaken in line with our tree strategy.

The Environmental Act 2021 requires us to consult with members of the public before felling any tree on an urban road (a street tree). See Environmental Act 2021, Chapter 30, Part 6, 115(2) for exceptions to this rule.
