Overview

The intention of the review is to establish the situation for each festival and event in a fair and quantifiable way so that decisions on the whole of the festivals and events programme funded by the Council can be made.

Why your views matter

The council is undertaking a review of all services provided by the voluntary and community sector and/or grant aided/funded by the council.

The Cultural Services division, as part of the review of the voluntary and community sector services, has undertaken a review of the Festivals and Events programme funded by the council and provided by the community and voluntary sector along with those festivals and events delivered by the council in partnership with other organisations and those managed and delivered by the council.

The review of the Festivals and Events programme is underpinned by the need for the council to demonstrate continued value for money in the activities and services it supports and/or provides to ensure that public funds are used for the greatest benefit and to meet changing needs of the city's communities.

Respondents are invited to provide feedback on the council's proposals arising from the review and to:

• Consider the impact that the proposals are likely to have on you, your family and your neighbours.

• Complete the online questionnaire to comment, show support or offer advice.

We will ask: stakeholders, those who use festivals and events, residents of Leicester and visitors to Leicester.

The closing date for responses is 6pm on 27th July 2012.

The methodology for the Review can be found in the 'Festivals and Events Review Methodology' document on this page (see below).
