Church Gate Conservation Area review consultation

Closed 12 Mar 2017

Opened 30 Jan 2017

Leicester City Council is asking for the public’s views of plans for the Church Gate Conservation Area.

The site within Castle Ward was first designated in 2006 and contains some of Leicester’s most important historic buildings, views, streets and spaces.

Why We Are Consulting

The council are required to periodically carry out assessments of the current state of the city’s conservation areas, and due to the recent burst of activity and development, the Church Gate Conservation Area has been selected for review.

A draft Appraisal and Management Plan document have been produced and are available to download as part of this consultation.

These documents aim to define and record the special architectural and historical interest of the areas, and present proposals and actions that seek to guide and manage future change, enhancement and preservation of the sites, including changes to the Conservation Areas boundary.

We would like to hear your views about the documents

A public drop-in event will also be held on Wednesday 22 February at St Margaret’s Bus Station from 10am until 6pm.
