We asked for your views on the proposed 20mph speed limit in Humberstone Village.

We had 14 responses to the e-consultation. Eleven were in favour of the 20mph speed limit. A paper consultation was also delivered directly to local residents. We had 147 responses and 134 were in favour of the scheme. A paper consultation was also sent home with children at Humberstone Infant and Junior Schools. We had 105 responses and 102 were in favour of the 20mph speed limit.

As a result of the overwhelming support, the City Mayor has approved implementation of the scheme.
Overview
Leicester City Council is proposing to change the speed limit from 30mph to 20mph in Humberstone Village.
The proposed change is part of a programme of new 20mph zones.
Money has been set aside from the Integrated Transport Capital Programme to pay for the changes if they are supported. It is estimated that the cost of the scheme will be £10,000
Why your views matter
The Transport Strategy section is now consulting residents and other interested parties for their views on the proposed changes. This consultation will be the basis on which the City Mayor will make his decision on whether to implement the scheme or not.
