We Asked

We asked the public for their views on the proposed reconstruction and finished appearance of the Silver Street carriageway and footway.

You Said

We had 13 responses, which represented views both in favour of and against the proposals.

We Did

Due to the lack of response this was deemed as acceptance of the proposals. However, there has been a high level of engagement activity with locals businesses since the consultation took place which has indicated strong support for the proposals. As a result, the proposed changes have been adopted and work has progressed.

Overview

This consultation covers the proposed reconstruction and finished appearance of the Silver Street carriageway and footway.

It is proposed that the design ties in with the junctions of High Street and Carts Lane already constructed as part of the City Centre Development Project.

The design will use the same type of materials as was used on Loseby Lane and proposes to feature no kerb-face.  However, the boundary between carriageway and footway will consist of a contrasting black strip (similar to Cank Street).

To review the design, the plan is available as a pdf for download below.

This is a part of the City Mayor's vision for Connecting Leicester.
