Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) Zone 2

Overview

In April 2025, a Zone 1 Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) was introduced to address anti-social behaviour in the city centre. Following its successful implementation, the City Mayor is now considering whether similar measures may be suitable in other areas of the city.

A review of anti-social behaviour data has since been carried out in line with PSPO legislation, alongside feedback received during the Zone 1 consultation, to help shape proposals for a Zone 2 PSPO.

The consultation documents include maps of the proposed areas, together with a summary of the supporting data and rationale. We encourage you to review these materials before responding to the consultation questions.

Leicester City Council is committed to creating a city that is safe, welcoming and thriving for everyone who lives, works in, and visits the area. PSPOs, introduced under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, allow local authorities to have rules in specific locations to help prevent anti-social behaviour.
