Lomond Crescent - Experimental Traffic Management and 20 mph Speed Limit

Closed 28 Mar 2022

Opened 11 Feb 2022

Overview

Concern has been expressed by residents over the number of vehicles losing control and crashing through fences on Lomond Crescent at the left hand bend to the north of its eastern junction with Heacham Drive.

An Experimental Traffic Order is being introduced to prohibit entry for all vehicles (except cyclists) into Lomond Crescent at its eastern junction with Heacham Drive.  It is aimed at improve road safety and reducing the risk of accidents at the bend.

Aligned but mutually exclusive to this scheme is a proposal to introduce a 20mph speed limit in the area,  This proposal would not involve any additional traffic calming features to be installed.

We would like to hear your views on the proposals.

Why your views matter

The Transport Strategy Section is now consulting residents and other interested parties for their views on the proposals.  This consultation will be the basis on which the City Mayor will make his decision on whether to implement the schemes or not.
