510 letters were sent and we had 34 responses online, which is a 7% response rate.
21 (62%) were in favour of the proposed implementation of temporary speed humps.
13 (38%) were against the proposed implementation of temporary speed humps.

As a result of the support of the proposal, the City Mayor has approved the scheme which is scheduled to come into force early in 2019.
Overview
Ashton Green is a housing-led mixed use urban extension of up to 3,000 new homes on a 130ha greenfield site on the northern edge of Leicester, between Beaumont Leys and Birstall, close to the A46 western by-pass.
The first parcel of 100 homes are under construction by Morris Homes and the first new residents moved in prior to Easter 2018.
Providing highway infrastructure improvements and additional public transport services are key elements of Leicester City Council's commitment to deliveeing a more sustainable new community including the early delivery of cycling/walking improvements, traffic calming and speed restrictions as the first homes are occupied.
The lastest proposed improvements are part of a long term phased delivery plan for Ashton Green to ensure that all aspects of supporting infrastructure; highways, public transport, green spaces and community facilities are provided in a timely manner alongside the new development of up to 3,000 new homes.
The council previously consulted on the overall highway infrastructure improvements in 2015 and is now ready to implment the following improvements;
a) A 20mph restriction to Ashton Green Road to the frontage of the new Morris Homes development together with raised tables along the stretch of road to complement the new speed reduction.
b) A new 30mph speed restriction will also be intorduced on Ashton Green Road between the Bevan Road roundabout and the A46 bridge, together with a new gateway road corssing and widened footway to accommodate cyclists.
The Ashton Green development has already delivered most of the early planning requirements including cycling and pedestrian works and improvements to the Beaumont Shopping Centre bus exchange.
We would like to hear views from residents living in Ashton Green, Glebelands and Thurcaston Park, commuters, businesses,occasional or regular visitors, anyone using Ashton Green Road as a through-route, and others living or working in the city.
