We asked for your views on the proposed 20mph zone for the Bloomfield Road Area.

You said

We received 15 responses to the online consultation. Thirteen were in favour of the 20mph speed limit and seven were in favour of the proposed traffic calming.


A paper consultation was also delivered directly to local residents. We had 66 responses to this, representing a 19% response rate. Of these responses, 58 people (88%) were in favour of the 20mph speed limit and 49 people (74%) were in favour with the proposed traffic calming.

We did

As a result of the support for the proposal, the city mayor has approved implementation of the scheme which is scheduled to come into force in January 2017.

Overview

Leicester City Council is proposing to install traffic calming features and change the speed limit from 30mph to 20mph on streets in the Bloomfield Road area of Leicester. 
 

Why your views matter

The transport strategy section is now consulting residents and other interested parties for their views on the proposed changes. This consultation will be the basis on which the City Mayor will make his decision on whether to implement the scheme or not.
